A group endurance challenge to support people experiencing homelessness in Malta. Six marathons in six days along the Via Francigena, from Lucca to Bolsena. Twenty runners. One group. Nobody left behind.
Miles From Home was Homebound's biggest challenge yet. Zach ran 2,700 km from London to Malta, passing through England, France, Switzerland and Italy — completing the equivalent of 55 ultra marathons in seven weeks. Day after day on the road, long distances, changing terrain and very little room for error. It was demanding, tiring and at times uncomfortable. But the reason behind it was simple.
Homebound Community Day was a six-hour open event held on 10th February at Mediterranean College of Sports. Throughout the day, practitioners and specialists working across movement, sport, wellbeing and community led sessions for adults and kids. Yoga, functional training, sports psychiatry, mindful movement, primal mobility, balance and coordination, kids' sports games and sports nutrition workshops — all brought together under one roof.
The 6x60 Challenge was six back-to-back days of running 60 kilometres across Malta. Every day brought a different route, a different stretch of the island, and a different group of people showing up to run alongside Zach. Some covered a few kilometres. Others pushed their longest distances ever. Strangers joined in. Old friends reconnected. The community showed up in a way that made every hard kilometre easier to carry.
Home Bound is about transforming movement into meaning, turning every challenge into a catalyst for change, and every step into a stride toward home.
